Kia has significantly updated its Carens Clavis for the 2026 model year, introducing a more diverse lineup with new high-end variants and enhanced features across existing trims. The strategic updates aim to broaden its appeal, offering both sportier aesthetics and advanced safety technology at more accessible price points.

Introducing New Top-Tier Variants: GT-Line and X-Line

The most significant additions to the 2026 Carens Clavis lineup are the new GT-Line and X-Line variants. These trims are designed to offer a more premium and stylish experience, targeting buyers who seek enhanced visual appeal and exclusivity.

The GT-Line versions, available in GTX and GTX+ trims, are exclusively paired with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. These models are distinguished by a series of cosmetic enhancements, including revised bumpers, gloss black roof rails and ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors), new side garnish, and distinctive alloy wheels. The sporty theme is further accentuated by lime-coloured brake calipers and metal pedals.

Complementing the GT-Line, the new X-Line trim is offered with an exclusive Dark Gun Metal exterior finish, alongside the option of Aurora Black Pearl. Both the GT-Line and X-Line variants also introduce a 6-seat configuration, featuring comfortable second-row captain seats, catering to those who prioritize second-row comfort and accessibility.

The GT-Line variants start at a price of Rs 19.80 lakh, while the X-Line versions are priced from Rs 21.56 lakh (ex-showroom).

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Now More Accessible

Kia has also made its suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) more attainable by introducing it in a new HTX(O) A variant. Previously, ADAS features might have been reserved for higher-priced, top-tier trims.

This move democratizes advanced safety technology, making it available on a variant that is positioned more towards the mid-range of the Carens Clavis lineup. This ensures that a broader customer base can benefit from safety innovations such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking, among others.

Enhanced Features Across Mid-Spec Variants

Beyond the new top-end trims, Kia has strategically upgraded its mid-spec variants, enhancing their value proposition without altering their market positioning. These enhancements focus on comfort, convenience, and premium feel.

The HTK+ trim now comes equipped with an electric sunroof, a feature previously exclusive to the HTE EX trim. This addition brings a touch of open-air motoring to a more widely accessible variant.

Further up the range, from the HTK+(O) trim onwards, the Carens Clavis receives a significant boost in standard equipment. These variants now include a panoramic sunroof, offering an expansive view and a more airy cabin experience. Additionally, LED headlamps, which were previously standard from the HTX trim, are now incorporated from the HTK+(O) trim. A dashcam is also now a standard fitment on these trims, adding to the vehicle’s utility and safety features.

Powertrain Options Remain Unchanged

Under the hood, the 2026 Kia Carens Clavis retains its proven and versatile powertrain options. Buyers can choose from three distinct engine choices, ensuring a fit for various driving needs and preferences.

The lineup includes a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115hp, a more potent 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 160hp, and an efficient 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 116hp.

Transmission choices are equally varied, offering flexibility to discerning customers. Depending on the selected engine and trim level, buyers can opt for a manual transmission (MT), an Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT), or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.

Adding to the efficiency improvements, Kia has also integrated the Idle Stop-Go (ISG) system across relevant variants. This technology automatically shuts down the engine when the vehicle is stationary, helping to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, particularly in city driving conditions.

Comprehensive Pricing for the 2026 Kia Carens Clavis

The updated Kia Carens Clavis lineup offers a wide spectrum of pricing, reflecting the diverse range of variants and features available. The ex-showroom prices in India now range from Rs 11.20 lakh for the entry-level variants to Rs 21.56 lakh for the top-of-the-line X-Line and GTX+ DCT models.
